The Boats

For the past ten years, we’ve enjoyed local boating in this 24’ Wellcraft (see below). The boat is a combination bowrider and cuddy cabin, and it’s a perfect day boat or great for an overnight stay on Catalina Island. We dive, wakeboard, fish, booze-cruise and camp on this versatile little boat, and we’ve put about a thousand hours on it so far. We store it at a local “dry-slip” boatyard in Newport Harbor, where it’s launched with a giant forklift into the bay.

I grew up in the boating industry, and I’ve had a boat since I was 16 years old. I’m a PADI Certified Diver, a Coast Guard Licensed Captain, and have piloted boats for numerous TV shows, commercials and movies. A highlight from these days in the entertainment industry was working on the “Baywatch” television show for four seasons, where I put approximately 200 hours on the infamous yellow Scarab patrol boat. During this time, I got to shmooze with all the stars (Hey David, Pam, Nicole and Jasmine!) and hang with people like Kelly Slater, Richard Branson and tons of other stars.
